Oona Moon Frances is a ballet student in the Advanced Division of the School of American Ballet (SAB), the official training institution for the New York City Ballet (NYCB), where she studies Balanchine technique and repertory. She has performed in NYCB productions of Balanchine works, representing SAB students on stage with the Company.

Bio: Born into a family of artists, and raised in New York City, Oona Moon began singing and dancing at a young age through local YMCA programs. At seven years old, she was accepted into the prestigious School of American Ballet (SAB).
While a student in the Children’s Division at SAB, Oona Moon performed in several New York City Ballet productions, including George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker, the 50th anniversary of Coppélia, the “pas de quatre” in Tiler Peck’s premiere of Mozartiana, and alongside ballet icon Maria Kowroski in the 2022 Spring Gala at Lincoln Center. In 2025, Oona Moon joined SAB’s Advanced Division.
She has attended summer intensive programs on merit scholarship with American Ballet Theater, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and Steps on Broadway, where she studies musical theater, jazz, and hip-hop. She has also trained with Cynthia Harvey and Kurt Froman.
Outside of her ballet work, Oona Moon has appeared in digital content for NBC and Capezio dancewear. From 2022 to 2024, she attended the Professional Performing Arts School in Manhattan, performing in a variety of musical theater productions as a vocalist. In 2020, she appeared in several episodes of Ron Howard’s On Pointe for Disney+.
